It's tricky to make it run under Windows 10, and even when it does run it's laggy and practically unplayable, I guess because it isn't compatible with modern hardware.. This is totaly diffrent game from the first one. The gameplay and mechanics all completly diffrent, this game have nothing in common with the first one. I don't really like combat system, training system, there is really nothing good to say about this game.. Barring the rare extremely annoying crashes, this is the better, more complete, version of Cossacks 2. The game was patched recently which has made the game significantly more stable, but it still has obvious bugs and rough patches. Such as artillery that will spontaneously teleport across the battle, seriously what the hell. Or the abysmal engineer pathfinding, where they will construct a defense and then take ten minutes to reform. Still Cossacks 2 is a unique RTS experience and I would recommend it. Just remember to save often. Very often.. I have played this game times in the past, even played it on Windows 7, but since I have updated to Windows 8.1 the message advises not to run the game because of resolution issues and there is no way, that I can find to correct this issue.. Bad game, very bad game. When you play tutorial, you don't know what you must do or how.Battles are chaotic.. steam version dosent even open while the pirated one works just fine. Impossible to play on windows 8.1 ( there should be a warning or they should be removed from steam ) those games ( every single one of them ) are currently unplayable on windows 8.1. I have been playing Cossacks, since it's initial release, in 2001. I disliked this version, at first. Although, after watching some 'Youtube' tutorials, I found myself engrossed.This is an amazing game! I have put countless hours into it, outside of "STEAM". There is a slight learning curve.I highly recommend it!
